A target carrier, also called a target retrieval system, is the heart of a shooting lane: it moves the target to the set distance, brings it back to the shooter and follows the scenario. The RangeTech system has two models with a common rail and control standard. Basic is an electric carrier with a cable drive, powered from the mains. Nucleus is a wireless carrier with a battery and armoured shielding. Both work on lanes from 5 m, typically up to 500 m, and lane length is not limited by the carrier design. Both are operated from one tablet in RangeTech Master.

Basic optimises the cost of the facility, Nucleus is an autonomous, armoured carrier for combat conditions. Both can be combined in one facility, even on one lane: the same rails, the same system, the same application.

Distances
Both carriers work on lanes from 5 m, typically up to 500 m, and on longer lanes when the facility requires it. Positioning every 1 m lets you shoot at 5, 10, 15 and 25 m on one lane without moving anything by hand.
25 m
The most common distance for pistol, police and commercial ranges. A Basic carrier on a 25 m lane is enough for basic, group and scenario training.
50 m
On a 50 m lane, Basic on the basic lanes is usually combined with Nucleus where a turner or a target camera is needed.
100 m and beyond
Nucleus, with no cable or wiring, has no design limit on lane length: we typically supply lanes up to 500 m, longer on request. Speeds up to 7 m/s shorten the target's travel time.

Rails delivered as replaceable panels. A damaged section is replaced without welding or grinding on site.

Quick target mounting and replacement, lower ricochet risk. Nucleus also has a magnetic holder.

The device monitors its own condition and reports it to the system. Manufacturer service and parts for every model.
From design to the first shooting
We agree the lane length, number of firing points, rail spacing and the location of the control room. This is where we advise where Basic is enough and where Nucleus works.
Rails are assembled from ready panels, without welding or grinding on site. A damaged section is replaced the same way years later.
Basic takes 230 V from the rail, Nucleus gets a docking station at the end of the lane. Everything connects to RangeTech Master.
We test the lane, calibrate 1 m positioning and train the operators. Then periodic inspections, original parts and remote diagnostics.

Questions and answers
None. Target carrier, target retrieval system and target retriever are different names for the same device: a carriage on a rail that moves the target along the shooting lane. RangeTech documentation uses the name target carrier.
Basic where facility cost and reliability matter most: sport, commercial and training ranges. Nucleus where the lane is long, the target has to turn or react to hits, and the carrier works under live ammunition. Both models can be combined in one facility.
From 5 m upwards. We typically supply lanes up to 500 m, but the carrier design does not limit lane length and we build longer lanes on request. The target is positioned every 1 m, so on a single 25 m lane you also shoot at 5, 10 and 15 m.
Yes. Aluminium rails do not corrode, the rest of the structure is powder coated, and the devices work from -20 to +60 °C.
From a tablet or computer in a browser, in RangeTech Master. One application handles a single lane, a group of lanes or the whole facility, including scenarios with targets, lighting and sound.
Yes, this is a typical modernisation. We replace the technology layer in stages, without closing the facility.
